WE OFFER SUPPORTED EMPLOYMENT PROGRAMS TO HELP PEOPLE WHO HAVE AN
INTELLECTUAL DISABILITY AND WHO REQUIRE EXTRA SUPPORT TO IMPROVE THEIR WORK
SKILLS SO THAT THEY CAN FIND AND KEEP JOBS.

 

 

 

ReachingHIRE

Reaching Hire is a training and job placement program that equips Ontario Works recipients living with intellectual disabilities/learning challenges with tools and support in achieving their employment, post secondary, or volunteer goals. This 8-week program offers daily workshops, peer networking, and one-on-one support to help participants obtain and retain employment, connect to job opportunities, and receive on-going support for 6 months after program completion.

A program to provide ongoing support & counselling to help people maintain paid employment

Supported Employment Programs

The 29-week program to help people increase their entry-level work skills and find paid employment

  • Employment preparation workshops
  • 2 day, Occupational Skills Assessments to learn about different jobs and assess skills and strengths
  • One-to-one assistance for job search:
– Making a resume
– Identifying appropriate jobs and employers
– Contacting employers
– Practicing job interview skills
  • Job search supported by a job development team
  • A job coach provides on-the-job instruction and support when employment is secured
